Mario Dallavalle is a third generation ice cream maker who has combined his Italian heritage with the ginest ingredients to produce luxuriously indulgent dairy ice cream.
With over forty years experience in traditional ice cream making techniques, Mario ensures that all his milk and double cream is sourced from the lushest Welsh pastures. One of the secrets behind his multi award winning luxury ice cream is the best milk and cream from local family farms… not to mention a little Italian passion thrown in for good measure.
Our method of ageing overnight results in a subtle texture and unsurpassed flavour hence the multiple awards won.
Mario is extremely proud to have brought back the ‘Silver Challenge Cup’ to Carmarthenshire, for the second year running, proving testimony that the milk and cream from Carmarthenshire farms makes the best ice cream.
The town of Carmarthen was founded by the Romans and was once the capital of Wales! Predominantly an agricultural county, it offers sandy beaches along Pembrey to Pendine in the South, to the Western Brecon Beacons in the North. You will travel over breathtaking mountains, through lush, green landscapes and secluded, ancient forests. Crystalline coastlines peeking across to Saundersfoot in Pembrokeshire, the Gower Peninsular and the rugged foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park… Carmarthenshire is the gem in the Welsh crown!
Mario’s is based in Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire… a busy little town nestling amongst some of the finest countryside in Wales! Cross Hands is ideally situated for commerce and distribution, being located adjacent to the A48, and only 3 miles from the start of the M4 at Pontabraham.
Mario is proud to support an award winning local Welsh farmer who supplies him with his award winning wholesome fresh milk and thick double cream.
Cwm Farm Dairy is run by John Phillips and his two sons Michael and Dorian. Between them they have worked very hard to build up their family business. Their milk and cream are produced and processed at their family farm which is situated in Cwmffrwd, Carmarthenshire.
In 2015 they were awarded with gold and bronze in their classes whilst appearing at the Royal Welsh Show. The following year all four of their entries received winning awards including gold, silver and bronze medals.
The Phillips family is quite rightly extremely proud of its achievements and recognition at the Royal Welsh Show in gaining such high accreditation from the judges two years running.
